| Showing what you have learned in a vodcast |
At the start of the academic year, a team of lecturers and support staff from FSW received the Casimir Prize for their innovative teaching idea. Instead of writing a paper, their students worked in groups to create a vodcast (a podcast in video format). What are their thoughts now that the course has been completed? 'The learning objectives have been achieved, and the students found it an enjoyable and educational experience. We certainly want to do more like this!'

| Science comes to life in children's books written by students |
In the Honours College course From Research to Children's Book, students learned how to translate scientific insights into accessible language. This also included writing their own stories (or even books!) for children. After the solitary process of writing and editing, it was time to put their skills into practice. The students read their stories to primary school children. Also, their stories were assessed by a jury.

New exam locations: USC Leiden & Spui The Hague
|
The university has two brand new locations. This also means two new places to sit exams. The new USC will replace the old sports centre as an exam location. The exact number of exam candidates that can be accommodated is still to be determined. With the opening of the new University Campus at Spui 5 in The Hague, the exam location in The Hague will also be moving. The Broodfabriek will no longer be used.

| Interdisciplinary Minor Co-creating a Healty Society wins education prize |
The minor Co-creating a Healthy Society wins the 2025 Education Award from the Department of Health, Medical and Neuropsychology. The minor is coordinated by Sandra van Dijk and Coen Wirtz (both Psychology) and is a collaboration with Leren met de Stad (Learning with the City) and various universities of applied sciences. Students apply interdisciplinary knowledge in co-creation with the target group and social partners. An inspiring example of excellent and socially relevant education, according to the jury.

| New SKO lecturer Joanne Mouthaan focusses on continuity in learning |
This January, Joanne Mouthaan, associate professor in the Clinical Psychology section, received the Senior Teachint Qualification (SKO). In recent years, Mouthaan has developed various innovations, including in the field of blended learning and case-based teaching, always with an eye for the continuous learning. 'If we educate students from the bachelor's to the specialist phase in a single continuous learning pathway, they will get much more out of their previous education and their further education.'
